I go on a couple of shopping trips to the Morlaix area each year to stock up on wine. Recently I heard about the Curious Wines warehouse in Bandon. I contacted my usual booze cruise crew and we arranged to take a trip down to the warehouse. We landed in, found the place with no problems and found plenty of parking.
In we went, got a friendly greeting and started a few laps of the place to see what was on offer.
My uncle is the real brains of the wine buying operation and was very impressed. My father and I are just enthusiastic amateurs and were equally impressed.
The layout is very good, it’s easy to see what’s on offer and there’s plenty of space to move around. It’s reminiscent of shopping in France, but with a temperature difference. As always, narrowing the choice down is the hard part, but I walked away with some lovely whites.
My thanks to the Curious Wines gang, and congratulations on winning Best Commercial Website 2009 in the Digital Media Awards.
p.s. if you’re driving down from Cork, you could do much worse than stop off in the Viaduct Inn for lunch.

Hey, I recognise that place!
Sorry I missed you Brian, was on my way back down from Dublin from the Awards when you popped in.
Thanks very much for your kind comments – we’re still a work in progress but delighted so far with the response – validates all our effort.
Enjoy your wines and catch you next time you’re passing
Cheers
Mike
Brian,
If they impress you, they MUST be good. Looking forward to taking a trip down soon. I might be able to order something better than “ANY ROSE PLEASE” the next time I eat out. A nice write up on the place and pretty quick too!
Great piece Brian!
Nice to know of some good local wine places!
