I wanted to to say thanks to everyone who helped out in the floods.
While I was walking around taking photos, members of the Emergency services (Fire, Gardai and Ambulance) were everywhere, helping. I could see what I think were council workers in high vis carrying radios all over the place, closing roads and helping with traffic.
The workers in UCC who managed miracles in evacuating students, helping to keep the damage to a minimum and who have done so much to get things back on track. The hundreds in the Council who’re working flat out to restore services to the city. The councillors and politicians who have worked outside their remit to help people. And everyone who helped a neighbour, friend or stranger out. It makes me proud to be a corkman. Thanks all of you.

I am compliling a report re flooding in Cork City and its history -
and im “flooded ” excuse the pun with photos and statements from the Nov 2009 floods im am in search of previous flooding in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 – would you have any photos on file re same – i have obtained just 4 from the cork examiner from 2005-
any help at all would be great
