Saturday, July 17th, 2010the new bazaar at Lapps Quay kicked off today.
it started off small, but it’s a great location for a market. you have the food and coffee stalls right beside it, as well as the river and the Boardwalk bar and Clarion behind it. there was a great atmosphere this afternoon.
It’s great to see more life coming to Cork city – well done to all the organisers and I hope it grows from here!
clippers arrive in Cork City
Wednesday, July 7th, 2010I went out on my friends yacht today to join the clippers on their journey up river from outside Cork Harbour.
We met the clippers a couple of miles off Roches Point and followed them all the way upriver.
The first landmark – Roches Point lighthouse. Clippers Cork and Jamaica passing Roches point:

Some milling around outside Sipke Island followed as the clippers were too early to head upriver.

Passing Pairc Ui Chaoimh (not visible)

The festival on the quays in Cork awaiting the clippers:

Finally the crew got to relax, enjoy the parade and enjoy the Cork hospitality!
