we noticed a new art installation being, well, installed in Emmet Place this morning.
I’m not sure what to make of it to be honest.
HRH Queen Elizabeth II visited Cork today. I went out to Washington street to see her pass by.
On her way out the road Philip was sitting on the side of the car near us, and she outfoxed us by switching sides for the return leg!
there was a good crowd, and the craic was very good.

I did see the public order and mounted units heading off sharpish at one stage, but overall there didn’t seem to be much trouble. Brilliant operation by the Gardai.
I never spotted this before, until I saw it mentioned on a web forum.
It’s a stone trough, designed to “provide water for the stray dogs” of Cork city!
It’s on Patrick Street – have you seen any others?
thanks to John Foley on twitter for finding a link to say that it’s a work by Seamus Murphy.
