Members of the Occupy Cork movement have, well, occupied a building on Oliver Plunkett St.

This notice is in the door, explaining that the building is private property and tresspassing is forbidden.

It seems they are not without a sense of irony. It remains to be seen whether the legal system will agree.

bubble brothers blog reborn, Paul at the wheel

When Julian left Bubble Brothers we lost a great wine blog. Recently, Paul Kiernan, who ran my favourite (and possibly the only genuinely independant) wine blog, under the moniker Grapes of Sloth started to work for Bubble Brothers. Paul has taken over the social media side of the house, and has relaunched the blog, titled “a terroirible beauty”.
The new Bubble Brothers blog is fun and well worth a read. Plenty of competitions too, with decent prizes.

He seems to be finding the time to keep Grapes of Sloth alive too, which is great. Keep it up Paul, who needs sleep?*

* or maybe you’d be less absent minded if you did get more sleep …..

real time passenger information for buses comes to Cork

You might have noticed that the numbering on buses in Cork City has changed recently. Each number has had 200 added to it,
so the Number 5 is now the Number 205. This is to allow RTPI, Real Time Pasenger Information to be rolled out. This is an electronic sign at each bus stop, telling you when the next bus is due.

They had organised a surprise for me – a trip to the mountains to
