Meeting House Vienna Lager

Friday, November 13th, 2015

Michael in Bradleys of North Main St. and the lads over at Elbow Lane have worked together to create this:

Meeting House Vienna Lager

It’s a super limited lager brewed by the folks in Elbow Lane and named in a competition on twitter.
You don’t get much more local than these guys!

If you’re looking for gifts for this Christmas, Michael has an awesome slection in the shop, and he’ll make up a special gift set or hamper for you if you don’t see one you like!

There’s a super range of artisan products at the front of the shop too. We’re bringing a batch of these out to Switzerland to make an Irish Foodie morning for the family over the break.

growlers available from the Franciscan Well

Monday, August 18th, 2014

The Franciscan Well is now selling beer in growlers, basically in large beer bottles that you take home and drink there.
It’s draught beer, from whatever is on tap on the day. A new one is €20 and a re fill is €16. The growler holds 4 pints.

I tried it with the Rebel Lager and it was perfect the first day, and still very good the second day. They do say you should drink it within 48 hours, and I’d agree with that.

I hope it’ll catch on with more pubs – it might be one answer to the fall off in trade, caused by people drinking at home.
(leaving aside *why* people are doing that).

One of the main pluses for me is that while I usually drive to the pub and therefore can’t have a drink, this way I can try
cask specials or whatever new beer is on draught.

Keep it cool in the fridge!

Hopefully the prices will drop a bit if the idea takes off.

I think the Bierhaus do growlers too, so I’ll head in and check.

hairy goat and stormy port

Monday, September 9th, 2013

I called into Bradleys today – had to pick up Hairy Goat, the latest from MountainMan Brewing and Stormy Port, from Galway Bay Brewry. I’m really excited to try the beers from Galway Bay, I’ve been looking forward to them hitting the shelves nationally since I heard about the brewery expansion.

Miner’s Red Ale from Muckish Brewery in Donegal

Monday, July 22nd, 2013

Michael in Bradleys is the first stockist in the country of this new craft beer from Muckish Brewery in Donegal. It’s a red ale and sounds like it’ll be very nice.

Miners Red Ale

Now that I’ve tried it – it is really good. As I said on untappd:
“Very nice. Smooth and balanced, lovely hop notes, balanced with malt.”
