			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I wanted to to say thanks to everyone who helped out in the floods.<br />
While I was walking around taking photos, members of the Emergency services (Fire, Gardai and Ambulance) were everywhere, helping. I could see what I think were council workers in high vis carrying radios all over the place, closing roads and helping with traffic.<br />
The workers in UCC who managed miracles in evacuating students, helping to keep the damage to a minimum and who have done so much to get things back on track. The hundreds in the Council who&#8217;re working flat out to restore services to the city. The councillors and politicians who have worked outside their remit to help people. And everyone who helped a neighbour, friend or stranger out. It makes me proud to be a corkman. Thanks all of you.</p>
