time to make cider!

Monday, November 16th, 2015

I’m taking part in a group buy over on the National Homebrewclub forums.
Members in the club came together to buy over 2000 litres of apple juice to turn into cider over the next few months.
I’ve one 25 litre drum waiting for me. This should make some lovely cider for next summer.

I’ll document the process here and on the East Cork Rebel Homebrewers page.

There’s a great Cider 101“how to” on making cider on the NHC forums.

brewday at the Mad Monk, Midleton

Sunday, August 31st, 2014

We had a brewday demonstration in the Mad Monk in Midleton yesterday. We brewed a small batch IPA. If you come along to our next meetup (2nd Wednesday of the month in the Mad Monk) you can taste it 🙂

All the equipment we used to make the beer is standard pots that you’d find in your own kitchen. Most of mine came from Ikea 🙂

Brew days are a great way to learn to brew beer at home. Come alone to the next one – you can just drop in for a short time and enjoy a craft beer while learning how to make beer at home.
